Description
As a Kitchen Shift Leader, your responsibilities involve effective communication and collaboration with the Kitchen Manager to plan well-balanced meals with minimal food waste. You play a key role in managing incoming and outgoing food, weighing and logging items, and recording them on the in-kinds tracking form. Ensuring correct storage of incoming food and maintaining continuous inventory while reporting shortages to the Kitchen Manager is crucial. You assist in preparing, serving, and cooking food, including special events when assigned, ensuring high quality and presentation. Maintaining cleanliness in various kitchen areas and ensuring proper operation and safety of kitchen equipment are also part of your duties. Additionally, you contribute to the training and development of clients, lead individuals in the kitchen (including clients and volunteers), communicate meal menus, and create a positive work environment and learning experience for all involved in kitchen operations.

Requirements
• Proven work experience as a Kitchen cook, Sub-Chef 4+years. • Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients. • Knowledge of a wide range of recipes. • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations. • Excellent organizational skills. • Conflict management abilities. • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment. • Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends.
Salary Range
$15.50 - $17.00 per hour Expected Hours: 30 – 40 hours
